Under general supervision will support and administer employee health and welfare plans. Will work with 401(k) TPA and Benefit Plan Broker to ensure compliance with ERISA, DOL and other governing authorities. Perform a variety of tasks which requires broad knowledge of benefit plan design and compliance. Establish and maintain prompt and professional internal and external customer service.


  • Coordination and administration of employee benefit programs utilizing the ExponentHR system
  • Respond to employee questions regarding benefits and benefit deductions
  • Communicate and interact with employees, managers, and benefit providers to address questions and resolve discrepancies via phone, email and in person.
  • Ensure new hire benefit enrollment has been completed
  • Serve as liaison, participate in benefit and 401(k) enrollment meetings
  • Monitor employee benefit eligibility
  • Prepare, process and distribute all 401(k) and other benefit documents as required to ensure compliance requirements are met
  • Compile statistical reports and summaries related to benefits as required for monthly, quarterly and annual internal audits
  • Oversee and coordinate employee leave of absences
  • Reconcile monthly benefit vendor billing, submit payments
  • Prepare and distribute various weekly and monthly reports
  • Take an active role to assist with new hire orientation, open enrollment, special projects
  • Understand and adhere to applicable laws and regulations, e.g. HIPPA, COBRA, Section 125, etc.
  • Design and develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’s benefit package.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned


  • High school diploma or equivalent education (GED)
  • College Degree, preferred
  • Minimum 5 years previous Human Resources experience, required
  • Strong background in benefits and benefit administration, required
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills are required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain high levels of honesty and personal integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members and team leader
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple priorities with strict time constraints
  • Adapt to new and changing environments with a can do attitude
  • Strong customer service focus is essential
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the team
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide positive company image
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in HR services and processes
  • Available for travel as needed
  • Previous banking experience a definite plus
  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC related responsibilities in the performance of daily operations to ensure adherence to bank policies and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
