The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality and accuracy of financial and statistical data presented to internal and external users of information associated with Independent Bank.


  • Analyze and prepare financial information for Independent Bank, parent company, and subsidiary companies
  • Compile information used to generate regulatory financial reports
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, subsequent financial reforecasts, and perform budget variance analysis via Oracle PBCS
  • Extract data via Cognos as needed for various departmental and ad hoc reports
  • Follow all other instructions and perform any other job-related duties


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent work experience), required
  • 3 year experience in a banking or related financial environment in an analytical role, required
  • Knowledge of recent versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access, required
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented
  • Understanding of regulatory reporting and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to learn report writing and other proprietary software quickly
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize for optimum efficiency
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC related responsibilities in the performance of daily operations to ensure adherence to bank policies and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
