The primary responsibility for the Lead Systems Engineer is to balance their own technical projects, have insight on every engineering team member’s projects, and delegate new project and support assignments to the engineering team. A successful Lead Systems Engineer will have a passion for technology as well as customer service.


  • Delegate requests and projects, and manage the engineering team workload.
  • Respond to 3rd tier incident and requests, as well as escalations from lower tiers of support.
  • Manage systems, and applications including but not limited to (AD, Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp, Splunk, Windows, Exchange, SQL, VMware )
  • Work with lines of business to streamline and or automate workflows as possible
  • Test and implement solutions, install upgrades, and new software
  • Check, modify, Test, and create system backups using Veeam where necessary
  • Monitor network resources including, but not limited to, virtual machines, SAN’s, servers, and software applications
  • Research and implement new technologies and\or processes to reduce cost, increase reliability and improve performance
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network
  • Inspect/maintain computer systems infrastructure and backup systems including by not limited to (Cisco UCS, NetApp SANs, as well as traditional server platforms)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent work experience, is required. Industry certifications are a plus.
  • 5-10 years as a System Engineer or Administrator
  • Requested certifications – Cisco, Citrix, VMware, Veeam, Microsoft, NetApp
  • Knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting language
  • Must have the ability to effectively troubleshoot/diagnostic/resolve issues
  • Understand banking concepts as applied through the lens of technology
  • Knowledge of leading banking software for lending and deposits
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain knowledge
  • Ability to meet deadlines, Project management
  • Excellent interpersonal, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently and/or with a team
  • Ability to work additional hours as part of on call rotation or planned maintenance\upgrade
  • Careful attention to detail and time management
  • Possess ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Act as technical mentor to lower administrators
  • Must be able to work in a server room with temperature set at 60 degrees or lower with 50% humidity
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds
  • Must be able to travel about 20% of time
  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC related responsibilities in the performance of daily operations to ensure adherence to bank policies and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
