    The Loan Documenatation and Collateral Manager supervises the Post Closing Audit department who review, analyze and evaluate documentation received from Loan Booking for document accuracy, compliance and adherence to Independent Banks credit policy and lending limits. Supervisor will ensure the accurate and timely audit of commercial and consumer loans as well as the process for document scanning, organization and retention. Continually identifies and facilitates implementation of improved policies, procedures, tools and systems changes to reduce audit cycle time, minimize errors/defects in auditing loans and deliver excellent customer service to external clients as well as internal departments.

    • Consults and coordinates with lending and compliance department managers, and internal audit department personnel as needed for various audits and exams.
    • Oversees the daily operations of the Post Closing teams.
    • Collateral management.UCC monitoring and continuations.
    • Oversee the force place insurance tracking and monitoring process and the property tax monitoring process.
    • Monitors adherence to defined policies and procedures and implements any corrective actions to ensure ongoing adherence.
    • Manage the exception tracking process using Cash On Track
    • Oversee the force place insurance tracking and monitoring process.
    • Efficiently manage the collection of the outstanding documents from company’s external clients.
    • Coaches staff to productivity and accuracy.
    • Complete special assignments necessary to support business strategy.


    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of loan operations experience
    • Functional understanding of applicable Federal, state and local lending regulations.
    • Strong working knowledge of commercial and consumer lending regulations, including but not limited to the following: TRID/RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rule (Reg Z and RESPA); Fair Credit Reporting Act (FRCA), Flood Insurance Regulation, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Reg B), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (REG C); and Securities Exchange Act (Reg X).
    • Background with various imaging systems and how they are structured.
    • Specialized knowledge of terminology related to legal descriptions and documentation of real property.
    • Knowledge of the loan process from underwriting through servicing.

    • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.

    • Ability to work well under pressure and to lead, inspire, and build trust.
    • Strong working skills with spreadsheets, word processing, and loan operating systems.
    • Fosters strong computing ethics and integrity.
    • Ability to work flexible working hours and in emergency situations.
    • Ability to engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and solve potential issues in the field.
    • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC related responsibilities in the performance of daily operations to ensure adherence to bank policies and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
