    Responsible for monthly and annual HMDA reporting on behalf of Independent Bank and implementing new HMDA requirements and procedures company-wide. The HMDA Coordinator will work with the Lending Staff and Compliance Dept. to insure accurate reporting per regulations. Incumbent is responsible for a variety of complex lending transactions.

    Responsibilities

    • Review loan application data for accuracy in reporting consistent with the requirements of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.
    • Create, edit and maintain records for HMDA LAR
    • Work with applicable departments to ensure all regulatory requirements are met implementing HMDA regulations.
    • Ensure all loan files are properly documented
    • Update HMDA policies and procedures as warranted.
    • Provide backup assistance to Real Estate Auditors and Processors
      • Prepare Loan Estimates and initial disclosures for consumer transactions
      • Prepare Closing Disclosures for consumer transactions
      • Order appraisals, flood determinations environmental reports and title commitments.
      • Order loan documents and coordinates loan closings
      • Communicate with title companies and real estate attorneys to properly review and prepare loan documents for commercial and residential real estate transactions
    • Adhere to operational controls to ensure safety and security of customers and bank assets. This includes, but is not limited to; legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures
    • Ensure regulatory compliance with RESPA, etc
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • High school graduate or equivalent education certificate (GED)
    • Some college course work preferred
    • 3 + years experience in real estate loan documentation knowledge required
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (outlook, excel, word)
    • Previous loan compliance experience required
    • Must have good communication and customer service skills
    • Ability to work independently and be self motivated with a cooperative attitude
    • Experience in supporting real estate lending preferred
    • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC related responsibilities in the performance of daily operations to ensure adherence to bank policies and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
